President Buhari inaugurates N50bn sugarcane estate in Niger




President Muhammadu Buhari will on Thursday introduce the N50 billion Sunti Golden Sugar Estate situated on the banks of River Niger in Mokwa, Niger State.

The home is possessed by Sunti Golden Sugar Estates (SGSE) Limited, an auxiliary of Flour Mills of Nigeria Plc.

Authorities at Flour Mills of Nigeria Plc affirmed to AgroNigeria that the home involved 17,000 hectares of irrigable farmland and a sugar process which could process 4,500 metric huge amounts of sugarcane day by day.

The home has the ability to create one million tons of sugarcane, which means 100,000 metric huge amounts of sugar yearly.


Whenever operational, the home will give 10,000 direct business yearly, 50,000 in a roundabout way, including 3,000 little scale out-cultivators who develop sugarcane to encourage the plant.
